Why Estate Planning?
Why execute estate planning documents such as Power of Attorneys, Health Care Proxies, Wills, Trusts, Etc.? Simple. Without these documents some if not all of your assets will require Probate Court supervision. In other words, if you have a bank account with a $40,000 balance and you no longer have the ability to manage you finances, the bank will not allow a third person such as your child access. Even if its merely paying a bill. Your family will be forced to petition the local Probate Court and request permission to do so. The process is time consuming, costly, and stressful. Having a simple Power of Attorney in place avoids Probate Court!
